How affiliate links work here
When you click a product link on thelastinghome.com and complete a qualifying purchase, we may earn a small commission from Amazon. That commission comes at no additional cost to you: the price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go to Amazon directly.
Affiliate revenue is how we fund the research, writing, and ongoing maintenance of this site. It buys the time it takes to read owner reviews carefully, compare specifications line by line, and update a guide when a pick goes out of stock.
How we choose the products we link to
Picks are selected before any commission is considered, and the process is the same for every guide:
- We start from what is actually purchasable on Amazon right now, with a live price and stock.
- We require an aggregate customer rating of 4.0 or higher, and we name the rating in the article so you can see it.
- We read the listing specifications and the owner reviews, then compare picks on the specs that predict durability for that category.
- We state a specification only when the product listing supports it. Where a listing does not publish a number, the article says so rather than estimating.
- Commission rate plays no part in the ranking. We do not accept payment for placement, and no brand has ever reviewed a guide before publication.
Prices and availability change
Prices, ratings, and stock on Amazon move constantly. Any price or rating in an article was accurate when we last checked it, not necessarily at the moment you read it. Always confirm the current price on Amazon before buying.
What we do not do
We do not lab-test or physically handle the products we write about. Our guides aggregate published specifications, certification standards, and owner reports, and we say so in the editorial note on every article. If you want the full method, see our editorial policy.
